ALMONERS REPORT

Since our February 2020 Almoners report, I can advise that:

Captain Graham Charles McLEOD - died peacefully in Queensland on Monday 16 December 2019 after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma which started in 2016,. Graham was married to Ivy On Hing-McCleod and was “the love of Ivy’s life – the keeper of her inner soul”. Ivy will be remembered by many as a Cabin Crew member from 1962 – 1982. Graham had previously served with the RAAF and the RNZAF before joining Air New Zealand in 1973, retiring in 1992. At Graham’s request there was no funeral but there was private military memorial service with a plaque being placed in his honour along the War Memorial Walk in Buderim, overlooking the Tasman Sea.

Ross Edward NYBERG - died 12 March 2010 aged 82. Ross worked in Engineering Components / Tech Services, having joined Air NZ in 1986 after serving in the RNZAF. Ross retired in 2002 and was the husband and soulmate of Margaret and the father of Mark, Tony and Hilary. There is to be a private cremation and due to current circumstances a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Captain John SAGER - With her deepest regret, John’s wife, Mavis, has advised that her wonderful husband, best friend and walking encyclopaedia died on 27 February 2010 after a two year struggle with cancer. A celebration of John’s life was held on Tuesday 3rd March at the Auckland Memorial Park and Cemetery.

Our condolences, deepest sympathy and very best wishes are extended to all family members – Brian Cudby, Almoner
